Considering the high degree of malignancy, recurrence rate and poor prognosis, exploring promising targets is an imperious strategy for colorectal carcinoma therapy. Recent studies have indicated that GABPα plays a role in cancer aggressiveness, but its exact function and regulatory mechanisms in colorectal cancer progression remain unclear. This study aims to explore the biological role of GABPα and its upstream regulator, miR-378a-5p, in modulating cancer progression.

What does a postcolonial inquiry into technoscience do? And what is it for? I develop these questions by reconsidering one powerful idea: that science and technology studies (STS) is postcolonial when it elucidates the hybridity, heterogeneity, and indeterminacy of global technoscientific formations, and does so to falsify colonial fantasies of hegemony expressed in imperious conceptual generalities and sovereign universalisms. Revisiting Warwick Anderson's expositions of postcolonial STS-initiated in this journal two decades ago-I reflect on the form and force of this critical operation. Despite an animating aversion to universalisms, the pursuit of hybridity and heterogeneity may ultimately universalize a liberal metaphysics of agency.

Identification and characterization of crop mutants through molecular marker analysis are imperious to develop desirable traits in mutation breeding programs. In the present study, macromolecular variations with altered morphological, quantitative, and biochemical traits were generated through chemically induced mutagenesis via alkylating agents and heavy metals. Statistical analysis based on quantitative traits indicating enhanced mean value in mutant lines selected from the M generation as compared to previous generations.

Free-living amoebae (FLA) such as Acanthamoeba, Balamuthia mandrillaris, Naegleria fowleri and Sappinia pedata are naturally widespread in freshwater, causing rare but fatal and debilitating infections in humans. Although recent studies have shown an increase in infection rates, there is a paucity of epidemiological studies regarding the presence of these emerging pathogens in water.
