The IHD classification needs to be brought up-to-date, for the existing IHD classifications according to WHO and All-Union Research Centre for Cardiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR have already become outdated and require additions to be made. In view of the above-stated, the contributors to this article propose an updated IHD classification, having supplemented it with new forms of the disease. This will help physicians in studying pathogenesis, clinical course of the disease, as well as in developing specific therapies and preventive measures to be instituted in this particular disease.

Objective: Machine learning (ML) has enabled healthcare discoveries by facilitating efficient modeling, such as for cancer screening. Unlike clinical trials, real-world data used in ML are often gathered for multiple purposes, leading to bias and missing information for a specific classification task. This challenge is especially pronounced in healthcare because of stringent ethical considerations and resource constraints.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to identify specific metabolomic and structural markers related to left ventricular (LV) remodeling in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) caused by ischemia and a low ejection fraction (EF).
  • The research involved comparing 56 CHF patients with 50 control patients, measuring various amino acids and acylcarnitines, alongside echocardiographic assessments over 6 months.
  • Results showed that CHF patients had lower levels of certain amino acids and higher levels of acylcarnitines, with specific markers significantly influencing long-term LV remodeling outcomes.

Unlabelled: The search for methods to assess the rehabilitation potential (RP) of patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery (CABS), which will allow to personalize approaches to the administration of necessary for the certain patient treatment complexes, increasing their effectiveness and reducing the probability of complications, remains relevant.

Objective: To develop a method for RP evaluation in patients with IHD who underwent CABS and to assess its role in predicting the effectiveness of therapeutic activities in the early rehabilitation period.

Material And Methods: The study consisted of two parts.

Background: The existence and reasons for the weekend effect in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) were not yet fully identified. This study aimed to evaluate whether weekend admission was independently associated with in-hospital mortality and the possible mechanisms associated with the IHD patients.

Methods: The study was a retrospective study, including IHD patients from 2015 to 2023.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aims to create a deep learning algorithm using MRI to quickly and accurately classify individuals into groups: normal subjects, and patients with dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and ischemic heart disease.
  • A total of 1,337 subjects were analyzed, employing advanced imaging techniques and extracting key cardiac features to train the algorithm, testing its effectiveness through various statistical methods and comparisons against expert evaluations.
  • The model achieved high accuracy rates, particularly distinguishing normal subjects with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.952, while improving classification metrics slightly with the addition of unlabeled normal data.
