Background: Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are fundamental to evidence-based medicine, but their real-world impact on clinical practice often remains unmonitored. Leveraging large-scale real-world data can enable systematic monitoring of RCT effects. We aimed to develop a reproducible framework using real-world data to assess how major RCTs influence medical practice, using two pivotal surgical RCTs in gynaecologic oncology as an example-the LACC (Laparoscopic Approach to Cervical Cancer) and LION (Lymphadenectomy in Ovarian Neoplasms) trials.

Fast-scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) is a widely used electrochemical technique to measure the phasic response of neurotransmitters in the brain. It has the advantage of reducing tissue damage to the brain due to the use of carbon fiber microelectrodes as well as having a high temporal resolution (10 Hz) sufficient to monitor neurotransmitter release in vivo. During the FSCV experiment, the surface of the carbon fiber microelectrode is inevitably changed by the fouling effect.

Environmental antibiotic residues (EARs) and antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) are known to contribute to global antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This study investigated EAR levels in selected wells, river, abattoir wastewater, bottled water and sachet water from Ede, Nigeria. Ecological risk quotient (RQ) and health risk (Hazard quotient) of the levels of these EARs, ARB and multidrug-resistant bacteria (MDR) with their antibiotic resistance were calculated.

Phenobarbital is a common antiseizure medication that has a relatively narrow therapeutic window. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is a helpful tool to guide dose adjustments for phenobarbital and avoid its toxicity. We investigated the agreement among 3 methods of quantifying phenobarbital in canine plasma: high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), point-of-care (POC) testing, and the FDA-approved immunoassay analyzer.

Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have improved the therapeutic arsenal in outpatient oncology care; however, data on necessity of hospitalizations associated with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are scarce. Here, we characterized hospitalizations of patients undergoing ICI, from the prospective cohort study of the immune cooperative oncology group (ICOG) Hannover.

Methods: Between 12/2019 and 06/2022, 237 patients were included.
