The Group IIA phospholipase gene (PLA2G2A) protein coding regions exhibit significant homology with recently described Group IIC (PLA2G2C) and Group V (PLA2GV) genes. All three genes are present in many mammalian species and are expressed in a tissue-specific pattern. Here, we demonstrate in human that they are tightly linked and map to chromosome 1p34-p36.1. We also show that the homologous mouse loci are tightly linked (no observed recombination) on the distal part of chromosome 4, a region exhibiting synteny with human 1p34-p36. Unlike its rodent counterpart, human PLA2G2C appears to be a nonfunctional pseudogene.

Purpose: This study aimed to i) identify child and family goals reported in a community allied health service, ii) map goals to ICF domains, and iii) evaluate goal characteristics against child-centred and family-centred practice principles.
Methods: A retrospective study design was used to extract and analyse raw goal data documented for children and families accessing a community-based allied health service. ICF linking rules were used to map goals to the ICF domains.

The selective elimination of inappropriate projections is essential for sculpting neural circuits during development. The class IV dendritic arborization (C4da) sensory neurons of Drosophila remodel the dendritic branches during metamorphosis. Glial cells in the central nervous system (CNS), are required for programmed axonal pruning of mushroom body (MB) γ neurons during metamorphosis in Drosophila.

Purpose: To compare the outcomes of two different surgical planning strategies for topography-guided repair of post-LASIK ectasia.
Methods: This is a case report of a patient presenting with post-LASIK ectasia. A retrospective chart review was used to collect details of the ophthalmic exam, as well as ocular imaging such as anterior segment optical coherence tomography and Scheimpflug corneal tomography.

Fluorescent biosensors offer a powerful tool for tracking and quantifying protein activity in living systems with high temporospatial resolution. However, the expression of genetically encoded fluorescent proteins can interfere with endogenous signaling pathways, potentially leading to developmental and physiological abnormalities. The EKAREV-NLS mouse model, which carries a FRET-based biosensor for monitoring extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) activity, has been widely utilized both in vivo and in vitro across various cell types and organs.
