To evaluate the use of yttrium-90 (Y90) dosimetry in predicting treatment outcomes when used following transarterial radioembolization with SIR-Spheres® (Resin Y90) in patients with hepatic tumors. This single institution retrospective analysis included 100 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma or other liver metastases who underwent transarterial radioembolization with resin Y90 and had imaging follow-up within one year of treatment. Mean tumor dose and mean dose to nontumor was calculated using voxel-based dosimetry software.

Background: Diffusing alpha-emitters Radiation Therapy ("Alpha DaRT") is a promising new radiation therapy modality for treating bulky tumors. Ra-carrying sources are inserted intratumorally, producing a therapeutic alpha-dose region with a total size of a few millimeter via the diffusive motion of Ra's alpha-emitting daughters. Clinical studies of Alpha DaRT have reported 100% positive response (30%-100% shrinkage within several weeks), with post-insertion swelling in close to half of the cases.

Purpose: The study's purpose was to use a simple geometry phantom to validate the deformable image registration (DIR) accuracy and dose warping accuracy in carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) and to provide an index for dosimetry in CIRT.

Materials And Methods: We used geometric and anatomical phantoms provided by AAPM TG-132. The DIRs of 3 different settings were performed between reference and translational images for each phantom.

Objectives: To establish a link between radiation dosimetry and disability-adjusted life-years (DALY) with the aim of quantifying the justification of medical exposures.

Methods: The health detriment, defined as lifetime loss of DALY at age of exposure to ionizing radiation for a US-European population was calculated. A simple model of the relationship was fitted to the results.

Purpose: To explore the effects of personalized oral stents in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatment.

Methods: Totally 108 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated with IMRT at Nanjing Gaochun People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected. Using a random number table method, the patients were divided into experimental group (n=54) using personalized oral stents and control group (n=54) using simple mouthpieces.
