Alzheimers Dement
December 2024
Moravian University, PA, PA, USA.
Background: Given the widespread of tele-assessment and tele-rehabilitation in speech language pathology and clinical neuropsychology for monolingual English-speaking patients with acquired neurogenic language and cognitive disorders, there is an urgent need to implement a culturally and linguistically tailored telepractice for multilingual people living with dementia (MPLWD), for whom there is no consensus on a standard model. This study aims to investigate the delivery model of remote assessment and intervention for this population.
Method: A systematic scoping review was conducted in December 2023 following frameworks described by Arksey and O'Malley (2007).

Background: The growing number of people living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) has led to an increased interest in the experiences of informal caregivers. Effective instruments to measure both negative and positive aspects of caregiving and validated with diverse caregiver populations, are needed to inform the design and evaluation of targeted interventions. This study (a) reviews extant literature on instruments developed to measure the range of roles and experiences of unpaid caregivers of people living with ADRD, (b) describes characteristics of the populations used to validate these instruments, and (c) discusses the usefulness, applicability, and generalizability of current measures METHOD: A scoping review was performed following the methodological framework of Aromataris and Munn (2020).

Background: Occupational therapists (OTs) play a crucial role in rehabilitation, aiming to improve the lives of individuals with sensory impairment and an increased risk of cognitive decline. Despite being responsible for cognitive screenings on occasion, they have expressed limited confidence in performing these with their clients with visual and/or hearing impairments (VI/HI). To improve this situation, OTs should gain expertise in collaborative sensory rehabilitation.
