Background: The role of histamine H3 receptors (H3Rs) in gastric protection and anti-inflammatory function is controversial. In this study, we investigated the gastroprotective effect of a histamine H3 receptor antagonist drug, betahistine, on cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractant (CINC) gene expression in a rat model of indomethacin-induced gastric mucosal injury.
Methods: In this experiment, rats were divided into four groups; the control group received no treatment, group 2 was treated with indomethacin at a dose of 25 mg/kg, group 3 pre-treated with famotidine at a dose of 50 mg/kg, and group 4 pre-treated with betahistine (as a reference drug) at a dose of 50 mg/kg.

Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome) is a rare and potentially life-threatening condition. Symptoms typically manifest two to eight weeks after exposure to an offending agent, such as anticonvulsants and antibiotics. Clinical features include fever, morbilliform rash, eosinophilia, lymphadenopathy, and, in severe cases, multiorgan dysfunction, including interstitial nephritis, hepatitis, and pneumonitis.

A peptic ulcer is a stomach lesion. It is generally caused by malnutrition, the use of anti-inflammatory medications, and an imbalance between mucosal defense systems. In fishes, the lubricous substance that called mucus secreted from the skin, prevents the entry of microorganisms that can enter the body through the skin.

Objective: To investigate whether cardiac mast cells (MCs) participate in pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy through the regulation of transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 (TRPV4).
Methods: Pressure overload-induced myocardial hypertrophy was induced via abdominal aortic constriction (AAC). Myocardial hypertrophy was evaluated by measuring the heart weight index (HW/BW), lung weight index (LW/BW), ratio of heart weight to tibia length (HW/TL), ratio of lung weight to tibia length (LW/TL), and cross-sectional area of myocardial cells.

Purpose: For Long COVID autonomic dysfunction, we have summarized published evidence on treatment effectiveness, clinical practice guidelines, and unpublished/ongoing studies.
Methods: We first interviewed 11 stakeholders (clinicians, clinician/researchers, payors, patient advocates) to gain clinical insights and identify key areas of focus. We searched Embase, CINAHL, Medline, PsycINFO, and PubMed databases for relevant English-language articles published between 1 January 2020 and 30 April 2024.
