Purpose: Pathological nipple discharge (PND) is associated with malignancy. This study aimed to investigate the value of fiberoptic ductoscopy (FDS) and the feasibility of immediate injection of methylene blue after FDS to identify discharging ducts and intraductal lesions without overflow of methylene blue during surgery.
Methods: From May 2019 to December 2023, 164 PND patients were enrolled.

Since early 2024, highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 viruses have been causing outbreaks in dairy cattle in the United States. Here, we compared the replicative capacity of A/dairy cattle/Texas/24-008749-001/2024 (H5N1; Cow-H5N1) isolated from a dairy cow, A/chicken/Ghana/AVL-76321VIR7050-39/2021 (H5N1; Chicken-H5N1) isolated from a chicken, and a human H1N1 2009 pandemic virus in ex vivo explant cultures of mammary gland and teat from lactating cows. We also examined the expression of influenza virus receptors in these organs.

Breast cancer patients are categorized into three subtypes with distinct treatment approaches. Precision oncology has increased patient outcomes by targeting the specific molecular alterations of tumours, yet challenges remain. Treatment failure persists due to the coexistence of several malignant subpopulations with different drug sensitivities within the same tumour, a phenomenon known as intratumour heterogeneity (ITH).

Hormone-receptor-positive (HR) luminal cells largely mediate the response to estrogen and progesterone during mammary gland morphogenesis. However, there remains a lack of consensus on the precise nature of the precursor cells that maintain this essential HR lineage. Here we refine the identification of HR progenitors and demonstrate their unique regenerative capacity compared to mature HR cells.
