Benchmarking is an important step in the improvement, assessment, and comparison of the performance of drug discovery platforms and technologies. We revised the existing benchmarking protocols in our Computational Analysis of Novel Drug Opportunities (CANDO) multiscale therapeutic discovery platform to improve utility and performance. We optimized multiple parameters used in drug candidate prediction and assessment with these updated benchmarking protocols.

Objectives: Radiotherapy manages pancreatic cancer in various settings; however, the proximity of gastrointestinal (GI) luminal organs-at-risk (OAR) poses challenges to conventional radiotherapy. Proton beam therapy (PBT) may reduce toxicities compared to photon therapy. This consensus statement summarizes PBT's safe and optimal delivery for pancreatic tumors.

Adult spinal deformity comprises a heterogeneous group of disorders that primarily affects older patients and can have a significant negative affect on health-related quality of life. Operative treatment for adult spinal deformity typically entails posterior instrumented fusions that have demonstrated the potential to significantly improve health-related quality of life outcomes. However, until fusion is achieved, the instrumentation providing structural support is subject to repetitive cyclical loading that disproportionately fatigues high-stress areas and can result in instrumentation failure.

Background CT is among the most widely used diagnostic imaging techniques worldwide, providing significant advantages and invaluable diagnostic insights for detecting a wide range of diseases across various organs. However, it involves exposing patients to relatively high levels of ionizing radiation. Objective This study aims to document the radiation doses from chest CT scans performed at Azadi Teaching Hospital in Duhok Province and compare them with those recorded at the 3-Tesla Center for Advanced MRI and CT Scanning, also located in Duhok, using diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) as a benchmark.
