As a consequence of the wide applications of operative laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, simultaneous surgical procedures have been carried out endoscopically. We report a 51-year-old woman treated by simultaneous laparoscopic cholecystectomy and celioscopically assisted vaginal hysteroadnexectomy for hydropic calculous gallbladder, uterine myomas, and bilateral ovarian policystosis. These procedures were carried out using six abdominal trocar sites, and the gallbladder was removed through the colpotomic access. The patient had an uncomplicated postoperative course and was discharged on postoperative day 5. In our opinion, the multidisciplinary laparoscopic approach, with the original technical solutions, represents an effective, minimally invasive method of treatment that gives new perspective about the indications and the treatment of similar cases.

Background: Intrabdominal pressure (IAP) is an important parameter. Elevated IAP can reduce visceral perfusion, lead to intraabdominal hypertension, and result in life-threatening abdominal compartment syndrome. While ingestible capsular devices have been used for various abdominal diagnoses, their application in continuous IAP monitoring remains unproven.

This prospective observational study aimed to compare abdominal hysterectomy (AH), vaginal hysterectomy (VH), and total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) in terms of oxidative stress (OS) by measuring serum levels of total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS), and oxidative stress index (OSI). Of the 3 groups, namely, AH, VH, and TLH, 22 patients were enrolled in each to investigate the aim of the study mentioned above. Patient demographics, clinical and surgical characteristics, and preoperative and postoperative (0th and 24th hours) serum TAS, TOS, and OSI levels were investigated.

Lateral lymph node dissection (LLND) is getting global attention as an a surgical option to reduce local recurrence in locally advanced rectal cancer. As the transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) is gaining popularity worldwide, a novel LLND approach was established adopting a two-team approach that combines the transabdominal and transanal approaches using the TaTME technique. This narrative review describes the advantages, anatomical landmarks, surgical techniques, and pitfalls of transanal LLND (TaLLND).

Bladder invasion by appendiceal cancer resulting in a vesico-appendiceal fistula is an uncommon occurrence. Both radical tumor removal and functional preservation of the bladder are desirable in the surgical treatment of this disease, and there are few reports on detailed surgical methods. Here, we describe a case of primary appendiceal mucinous carcinoma with bladder invasion treated with robotic laparoscopy and endoscopy cooperative surgery (RECS).

This study aimed to investigate the effects of LSG on weight loss and inflammation status in bariatric patients 1-year post-procedure.
Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted from September 2022 to May 2024.
