Background: Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is the main pathophysiology of testicular torsion-detorsion (T/D). However, there is no safe and effective treatment for testicular I/R injury.
Methods: The levels of NAD related genes were measured in the sham group, I/R + saline-treated group, and I/R + NMN-treated group by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR).

Collateral blood vessels are unique, naturally occurring endogenous bypass vessels that provide alternative pathways for oxygen delivery in obstructive arterial conditions and diseases. Surprisingly however, the capacity of the collateral circulation to provide protection varies greatly among individuals, resulting in a significant fraction having poor collateral circulation in their tissues. We recently reviewed evidence that the presence of naturally-occurring polymorphisms in genes that determine the number and diameter of collaterals that form during development (ie, genetic background), is a major contributor to this variation.

Ischaemic cardiomyopathy (IC) predominantly arises from prolonged deprivation of oxygen in the coronary arteries, resulting in compromised cardiac contractility or relaxation. This study investigates the role of disulfidptosis-associated genes (DiGs) in IC. Through the analysis of datasets GSE5406 and GSE57338, we explored the association between DiGs and immune characteristics to identify crucial genes contributing to IC development.

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is the primary cause of cardiac mortality worldwide. However, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) following reperfusion therapy is common in AMI, causing myocardial damage and affecting the patient's prognosis. Presently, there are no effective treatments available for MIRI.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF) frequently coexist and mutually influence each other. The association between AF and the subtype of HF, Ischaemic heart failure (IHF), remains insufficiently described, despite their high prevalence. Hence, comprehending their underlying pathophysiological mechanisms and identifying new therapeutic targets are urgently needed.
