137 patients with febrile neutropenia after cytotoxic therapy not responding to ceftazidime plus or ceftriaxone plus netilmicin in received additionally to the previous combination either vancomycin alone or combined with another anti-gram-negative compound: imipenem in those treated prophylactically with ofloxacin and ciprofloxacin in those without prophylaxis. The addition of vancomycin to the previously ineffective combination of a third generation cephalosporin plus aminoglycoside, and replacement of ceftriaxone plus netilmicin with ceftazidime plus amikacin plus vancomycin or with ceftazidime plus vancomycin seems to be less effective (71.8-75 vs. 87.5-90.9%, p < 0.02) and more toxic (20.5-7.2 vs. 0-5%, p < 0.0005) than vancomycin in combination with a different anti-gram-negative compound as previously used: imipenem or ciprofloxacin.

Purpose Of Review: Febrile neutropenia as a complication of cytotoxic chemotherapies, remains a major event in the medical journey of hematology and oncology patients. In this review, we are trying to review the new elements and highlights that are shaping febrile neutropenia in nowadays.
Recent Findings: Introduction of risk-stratification, expanded use of granulocyte-colony stimulating factor and oral treatment for selected patients and rapid administration of antibiotics revolutionized the treatment of febrile neutropenia.

Methods: Overall, 1362 patients that underwent radical resection for GIC were retrospectively analyzed. POF was defined as a postoperative temperature ≥38°C during hospitalization.

According to the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) 2015 classification, status epilepticus (SE) is a seizure that lasts longer than 5 min or a frequency of more than one seizure within 5 min, without returning to a normal level of consciousness between episodes. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the prognostic factors of SE and compare our patients with those of patients treated internationally with the modified status epilepticus severity score (mSTESS) to determine the reliability of this scoring system. The medical records of patients aged 1 month-17 years with SE who were treated at Çukurova University-Balcalı Training and Research Hospital between September 2018 and September 2021 and who were followed in the intensive care unit were included in the study.
