The patient was 69-year-old male with bronchogenic carcinoma associated with another abnormal shadow in the same left lower lobe. Its shadow was considered whether obstructive pneumonia or intrapulmonary metastasis before thoracotomy. Pathological examination revealed that this lesion was pulmonary infarction. It may be rare that bronchogenic carcinoma is associated with pulmonary infarction showing tumorous shadow. The staging and operative indication of lung cancer should be carefully determined which associate with abnormal shadow on the same lung field.

The objective of this study was to investigate the prognostic significance of the frequency of primary cilia (PC) and β-catenin expression in 218 patients (pts) with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including 125 pts with adenocarcinoma and 93 pts with squamous cell carcinoma. In the whole group of 218 pts with NSCLC, overall survival (OS) was significantly inferior among pts with present PC than without PC (p=0.024) and with higher cytoplasmic β-catenin expression (25-75%) than with lower cytoplasmic β-catenin expression (<25%) (p=0.

DNA methylation is recognized as an early event in cancer initiation and progression. This review aimed to compare the methylation status of promoter regions in selected genes across different histological subtypes of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, and the rare but highly aggressive large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC). A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the PubMed database until August 17, 2024, using standardized keywords to identify reports on promoter methylation in NSCLC.

Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) is one of the major histopathological types of lung cancer, accounting for about 85 percent of all lung cancers. The human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) alteration in NSCLC include gene mutations, gene amplifications, and protein overexpression, and is one of the important driving target. Currently, the treatment options for HER-2 altered NSCLC are still relatively limited, and more effective drugs are urgently needed.

Lung cancer is one of the malignant tumors with high morbidity and mortality worldwide. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly aggressive neuroendocrine tumor that is closely associated with tobacco exposure, accounting for 13% to 15% of all lung cancer cases. It is characterized by a high proliferation rate and exceptional metastatic capacity.

In recent years, deep neural networks (DNNs) have demonstrated remarkable performance in pathology applications, potentially even outperforming expert pathologists due to their ability to learn subtle features from large datasets. One complication in preparing digital pathology datasets for DNN tasks is the variation in tinctorial qualities. A common way to address this is to perform stain normalization on the images.
