To explore the efficacy of vonoprazan fumarate in the treatment of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease(LPRD) evaluated by the Chinese version of the RSS-12 scale. A total of 100 LPRD patients treated in the otolaryngology-head and neck surgery outpatient clinic of our hospital were randomly divided into two groups(50 cases each). The observation group was treated with vonoprazan fumarate(20 mg, once daily), and the control group was treated with esomeprazole enteric-coated capsules(20 mg, twice daily) for 12 weeks.

Background: Radiotherapy with or without concurrent chemotherapy is a standard of care treatment for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Upon completion, patients are referred for a post-treatment F-FDG PET/CT (Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography) scan to help guide ongoing management by assessing for the presence or absence of residual or recurrent disease and differentiating this from post-treatment inflammation. To improve objective reporting of response, we developed the Christie score.

Background: Direct laryngoscopy and biopsy have been the standard of care for biopsy of lesions arising from the upper aerodigestive tract (UADT). The requirement of general anesthesia is often a prerequisite. Objective: Haji et al. reported that characteristic click-like sounds during the swallowing reflex were recorded with a small lavalier microphone placed in the ear. They also reported that endoscopic and phototubometric observations showed that these sounds were likely related to the opening and closing of the Eustachian tube during swallowing.
