Obesity is associated with several comorbidities that cause high mortality rates worldwide. Thus, the study of adipose tissue (AT) has become a target of high interest because of its crucial contribution to many metabolic diseases and metabolizing potential. However, many AT-related physiological, pathophysiological, and toxicological mechanisms in humans are still poorly understood, mainly due to the use of non-human animal models.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, and, with only 15-20% of HCC patients being suitable for potentially curative treatments, the vast majority of patients with HCC ultimately require systemic therapy. For decades, the choice of effective systemic therapy for HCC remained sparse. In recent years, after the combination of atezolizumab and bevacizumab demonstrated superior overall survival over the first-line standard, sorafenib, there has been a major therapeutic paradigm shift to immunotherapy-based regimens for HCC.

Introduction And Aim: Assessing decongestion in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) is challenging, requiring multiple parameters and often remaining imprecise. The study aimed to investigate the utility of indirectly estimating plasma variation (∆ePVS) for evaluating decongestion in ADHF patients in relation to natriuretic peptides.
Materials And Methods: This prospective, observational, single-center study included 111 patients (mean age 74 years, 40% female) hospitalized with ADHF and treated with intravenous diuretics along with optimized medical therapy.

Background: Virtual reality-based training has been widely used for post-stroke patients due to its positive effects on functional aspects by promoting brain plasticity.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of gait training with virtual reality-based real-time feedback on motor function, balance, and spatiotemporal gait parameters in post-stroke patients.
Methods: Fifteen patients ( = 15) with chronic stroke were randomly assigned to either the virtual reality-based real-time feedback with treadmill gait training (experimental group = 8) or the treadmill gait training (control group = 7).

Background: Accurate determination of infant mortality causes and understanding sociocultural factors influencing care-seeking behaviors are crucial for targeted interventions in resource-limited settings. This mixed-methods study aimed to assess the accuracy of verbal autopsy (VA) in ascertaining infant death causes and explore sociocultural determinants of infant mortality in Gujarat, India.
Materials And Methods: It was a mixed-method study with a retrospective cohort component for which data from 661 infant records were extracted from the main health office's database, with a subset of 328 infant deaths selected for verbal autopsy analysis.
