Six-year immunologic surveillance of schoolchildren vaccinated according to different schedules in the town of Novgorod demonstrated the efficacy of overall vaccinations of children and young people with live anti-influenza vaccines in autumn and winter for 2 years. Then an interval of 3 years is to be made, followed by another 2-year revaccination cycle, provided the same serologic subtypes of influenza A and B are still circulating.

Heart failure (HF), a chronic and progressive disease, is increasing in prevalence worldwide and is associated with increased hospitalizations and death. Despite notable improvements in medical therapy for HF, patients are still at risk of future negative outcomes. Current guidelines recommend four classes of medication for treating patients with HF, deemed guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT).

Implementation of stop smoking support by mental healthcare professionals: cross-sectional analysis of why nothing much happens.

Discov Ment Health

January 2025

Public Health and Primary Care, Leiden University Medical Center, Hippocratespad 21, PO Box 9600, 2300 RC, Leiden, The Netherlands.

Smoking is highly prevalent and persistent among people with mental illness, but implementation of smoking cessation care by mental healthcare professionals (MHCPs) is lagging behind. This study took a broad approach to understanding implementation of stop smoking support (SSS) by MHCPs (N = 220 for main analyses), incorporating background characteristics, psychosocial factors, client factors, and organizational/environmental factors. Variable selection was based on previous work and the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research.

The current research focused on the synthesis of two series of pyrazole derivatives and evaluation of their insecticidal effectiveness. In the first series, seven pyrazole Schiff bases 3a-g were successfully synthesized with yields (79-95%) by condensing phenylfuran-2-carbaldehyde with substituted pyrazole rings. In the second series, eleven amino acid-pyrazole conjugates 6a-k were synthesized utilizing acetic acid, sulfuric acid, morpholine, and EDC.

Salt-in-presalt electrolyte solutions for high-potential non-aqueous sodium metal batteries.

Nat Nanotechnol

January 2025

Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA.

Room-temperature non-aqueous sodium metal batteries are viable candidates for cost-effective and safe electrochemical energy storage. However, they show low specific energy and poor cycle life as the use of conventional organic-based non-aqueous electrolyte solutions enables the formation of interphases that cannot prevent degradations at the positive and negative electrodes. Here, to promote the formation of inorganic NaF-rich interphases on both negative and positive electrodes, we propose the salt-in-presalt (SIPS) electrolyte formulation strategy.

This paper presents a novel approach to modeling and controlling a solar photovoltaic conversion system(SPCS) that operates under real-time weather conditions. The primary contribution is the introduction of an uncertain model, which has not been published before, simulating the SPCS's actual functioning. The proposed robust control strategy involves two stages: first, modifying the standard Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm to generate an optimal reference voltage using real-time measurements of temperature, solar irradiance, and wind speed.
