Purpose: We aimed to analyze regional variations in the assignment of (ICD-10) codes to acute respiratory infections, seeking to identify notable anomalies that suggest diverse diagnoses of the same condition.
Methods: We analyzed national weekly diagnosis data for acute respiratory infections (ICD-10 codes J00-J22) in Poland from 2010 to 2019, covering all 380 county-equivalent administrative regions and encompassing 292 million consultations. Data were aggregated into age brackets.

Umbilical lesions in children represent a wide spectrum of congenital or acquired anomalies. Congenital anomalies are mainly because of failed obliteration of the omphalomesenteric duct while acquired pathologies are either because of delayed umbilical cord separation causing umbilical granuloma or result from umbilical stump infection producing omphalitis with persistent discharge. Meckel's diverticulum is considered the most common gastrointestinal congenital anomaly resulting from obliteration failure of the omphalomesenteric duct while umbilical granuloma is a common acquired umbilical lesion seen in daily practice.

: Medullary carcinoma of the small intestine is an exceptionally rare subtype of gastrointestinal cancer, characterized by its solid growth pattern and lack of glandular structures, which complicate timely diagnosis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, diagnostic delays for rare cancers became increasingly common due to the prioritization of COVID-related cases and patient reluctance to seek medical attention. : We present the case of a 70-year-old male initially misdiagnosed with COVID-19, whose persistent symptoms led to the eventual discovery of medullary carcinoma.

Acute aortic syndrome (AAS) encompasses a range of life-threatening conditions, including classical dissection, intramural hematoma, and penetrating aortic ulcer. Each of these conditions presents distinct clinical characteristics and carries the potential to progress to rupture. Because AAS can be asymptomatic or present with diverse symptoms, its diagnosis requires clinical evaluation, risk scoring, and biomarkers such as D-dimer (DD), C-reactive protein (CRP), homocysteine, natriuretic peptides (BNP), and imaging modalities like computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and echocardiography.
