Zoospores of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii exhibit chemotaxis towards maltose, sucrose, xylose, mannitol, and ammonium. Ten independent mutants defective in chemotaxis towards sugars have been isolated. These mutants form five phenotypic classes. Genetic analysis of two mutant strains defective in chemotaxis to maltose (CHE1, CHE3) and two mutant strains defective in chemotaxis to sucrose (CHE2, CHE4) indicated that the defect in them depended on single nuclear recessive mutant alleles. Mutations mal1, mal2, suc1, and suc2 represent four chemotactic loci that are unlinked to the marker mt located on the linkage group VI. Four loci are unlinked to each other. These observations suggest that the mal and the suc loci do not constitute a spatially single functional group.

The Neural Crest cells are multipotent progenitor cells formed at the neural plate border that differentiate and give rise to a wide range of cell types and organs. Directional migration of NC cells and their correct positioning at target sites are essential during embryonic development, and defects in these processes results in congenital diseases. The NC migration begins with the epithelial-mesenchymal transition and extracellular matrix remodeling.

Introduction: FTY720 bioactive lipid has proliferative, osteoinductive, chemo attractive, and angiogenic properties, being thus a potential exogenous administered agent for promotion of bone regeneration. Herein we developed FTY720-loaded liposomes as a potential delivery system that could retain and prolong the bioactivity of the bioactive lipid and at the same time reduce its cytotoxicity (at high doses).
Methods: FTY720 liposomes were prepared by thin-lipid hydration and microfluidic flow focusing, and evaluated for their ability to induce proliferation, osteoinduction, and chemoattraction in three cell types: MC3T3-E1 pre-osteoblast cells, L929 fibroblast cells, and ATDC5 chondrogenic cells.

Zearalenone (ZEA), a common mycotoxin, poses significant environmental and health risks. While its toxicological effects are well-studied, its impact on regeneration remains unclear. This study explored ZEA's effects on zebrafish (Danio rerio) larvae, focusing on developmental toxicity, immunotoxicity, and tissue regeneration.

Periodontitis is an inflammation of the alveolar bone and soft tissue surrounding the teeth. Although mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been implicated in periodontal regeneration, the mechanisms by which they promote osteogenesis remain unclear. We examined whether epigenetic modifications mediated by the long-noncoding RNA (lncRNA) NR_045147, which plays a crucial role in cancer, influence the osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs).

Background Aims: Oral wound healing involves hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation and tissue remodeling. The oral cavity is a complex wound healing environment because of the presence of saliva, a high bacterial burden and ongoing physical trauma from eating. The inflammatory component of wound healing balances the polarization of macrophages in healing tissues between M1 inflammatory macrophages and M2 anti-inflammatory macrophages.
