Background: In the United States (US), transgender women of color experience cyclical, interlocking systems of structural and institutional oppression rooted in racism and transphobia, which fuel economic vulnerability. Together, cycles of intersecting racism, transphobia, and economic vulnerability create conditions that give rise to extreme HIV inequities among transgender women of color. Microeconomic interventions - designed to improve financial standing by increasing income generation and access to financial resources through entrepreneurship, cash transfers, and training - have the potential to address structural factors underlying HIV inequities.

Early psychosocial support for parents/legal guardians who have children with variations of sex characteristics (VSCs) is crucial in helping avoid potentially harmful medical procedures. Psychosocial support, including peer support, can help parents/legal guardians choose the best care path for their child, and it remains important throughout childhood. However, there is a lack of data on the provision of psychosocial support for families with a child who has VSCs.

Adaptive plasticity allows populations to cope with environmental variation but is expected to fail as conditions become unfamiliar. In novel conditions, populations may instead rely on rapid adaptation to increase fitness and avoid extinction. Adaptation should be fastest when both plasticity and selection occur in directions of the multivariate phenotype that contain abundant genetic variation.

Functionally distinct dietary fibre sources may be combined in reformulated foods to restore a natural spectrum of health attributes. Effects of wheat bran (WB), psyllium husk, guar gum and Raftilose™ combinations on hydrated faecal mass (HFM), were determined. A valid rat model was fed diets supplemented with 10% WB, 10% WB with 1-6% psyllium in 1% steps, and 10% WB/5% psyllium with 1-7% guar gum or 1-6% Raftilose in 1% steps.

Identifying items with differential item functioning (DIF) in an assessment is a crucial step for achieving equitable measurement. One critical issue that has not been fully addressed with existing studies is how DIF items can be detected when data are multilevel. In the present study, we introduced a Lord's Wald test-based procedure for detecting both uniform and non-uniform DIF with polytomous items in the presence of the ubiquitous multilevel data structure.
