ARCH: Large-scale knowledge graph via aggregated narrative codified health records analysis.

J Biomed Inform

January 2025

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, 677 Huntington Ave, Boston, 02115, MA, USA; VA Boston Healthcare System, 150 S Huntington Ave, Boston, 02130, MA, USA. Electronic address:

Objective: Electronic health record (EHR) systems contain a wealth of clinical data stored as both codified data and free-text narrative notes (NLP). The complexity of EHR presents challenges in feature representation, information extraction, and uncertainty quantification. To address these challenges, we proposed an efficient Aggregated naRrative Codified Health (ARCH) records analysis to generate a large-scale knowledge graph (KG) for a comprehensive set of EHR codified and narrative features.

Background: Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) is a severe multisystem autoimmune disease featured by small-vessel vasculitis with few or no immune complex, also has a significant genetic predisposition. Growing evidence has confirmed that STAT4 gene is tightly associated with multiple autoimmune diseases, but its contribution to MPA onset is still elusive.

Objective: The aim was to investigated the association between STAT4 gene polymorphisms (rs7572482, rs7574865 and rs12991409) and MPA susceptibility in a Guangxi population of China.

Anaerobic digestion (AD) technology offers significant advantages in addressing environmental issues arising from the intensification of livestock production since it enables waste reduction and energy recovery. However, the molecular composition of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and its linkages to microbial biodiversity during the industrial-scale AD process of chicken manure (CM) remains unclear. In this study, the chemical structure of CM digestate-derived DOM was characterized by using multi-spectroscopic techniques and ultrahigh-resolution mass spectrometry, and the microbial composition was detected by using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.

Metabolic syndrome is a group of pathological disorders increasing the risk of serious diseases including cardiovascular disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes. Global widespread of the metabolic syndrome has put a heavy social burden. Interestingly, a crucial link between the metabolic syndrome and a psychiatric disorder may frequently coexist, in which certain shared mechanisms might play a role for the pathogenesis.

Genetic dissection of foxtail millet bristles using combined QTL mapping and RNA-seq.

Theor Appl Genet

January 2025

College of Agriculture, State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Biology in Arid Areas, Northwest A&F University, Yangling, 712100, China.

QTL mapping of two RIL populations in multiple environments revealed a consistent QTL for bristle length, and combined with RNA-seq, a potential candidate gene influencing bristle length was identified. Foxtail millet bristles play a vital role in increasing yields and preventing bird damage. However, there is currently limited research on the molecular regulatory mechanisms underlying foxtail millet bristle formation, which constrains the genetic improvement and breeding of new foxtail millet varieties.
