Background: The ovary is conspicuous for the wide diversity of histologic tumor types that it contains. Unusual or rare tumors may present diagnostic difficulty on cytologic examination.
Case: A 36-year-old woman presented with an 80-mm cystic lesion in the left ovary. Fine needle aspiration provided 30 ml of transparent, light yellow fluid. On cytologic examination, numerous clusters and rosettes of benign cells, resembling choroid plexus cells, were seen. Surgical resection confirmed the presence of an ependymal cyst adjacent to a mature cystic teratoma (dermoid cyst).
Conclusion: We report this unique case in order to alert cytologists unfamiliar with cerebrospinal fluid cytopathology to the rare entity of ovarian ependymal cysts.

Pathological neovascularization is a hallmark of many vision-threatening diseases. However, some patients exhibit poor responses to current anti-VEGF therapies due to resistance and limited efficacy. Recent studies have highlighted the roles of noncoding RNAs in various biological processes, paving the way for RNA-based therapeutics.

Delirium is a highly prevalent neuropsychiatric syndrome characterised by acute and fluctuating impairments in attention and cognition. Mechanisms driving delirium are poorly understood but it has been suggested that blood cytokines and chemokines cross the blood brain barrier during delirium, directly impairing brain function. It is not known whether these molecules reach higher brain levels when the blood cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB) is impaired.

Introduction: The choroid plexus is located in the cerebral ventricles. It consists of a stromal core and a single layer of cuboidal epithelial cells that forms the blood-cerebrospinal barrier. The main function of the choroid plexus is to produce cerebrospinal fluid.

Background: Uveal melanoma (UM) is the most common intraocular tumor in adults, arises either de novo from normal choroidal melanocytes (NCMs) or from pre-existing nevi that stem from NCMs and are thought to harbor UM-initiating mutations, most commonly in GNAQ or GNA11. However, there are no commercially available NCM cell lines, nor is there a detailed protocol for developing an oncogene-mutated CM line (MutCM) to study UM development. This study aimed to establish and characterize premalignant CM models from human donor eyes to recapitulate the cell populations at the origin of UM.

Purpose: To evaluate the impact of Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) implantation on anterior chamber angle parameters and posterior segment structures in highly myopic eyes and explore potential correlations between these changes. The study aimed to assess alterations in superficial and deep vessel density (SVD, DVD), foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness to clarify the safety profile of ICL implantation.
Methods: Prospective observational study, included 36 highly myopic eyes undergoing ICL implantation in surgery group and 23 non-surgical control eyes in non-surgery group.
