A 32-year-old man presented with bloody diarrhea of new onset. For three days he had had 10 to l5 bowel movements per day containing bright red blood. He also had had one black, tarry stool, but no fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, or constipation. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed acute gastritis, and colonoscopy was interpreted as unremarkable; he was then transferred to our institution for further workup.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of amoebiasis, which has been neglected in recent years according to the World Health Organization, in ulcerative colitis patients and investigate the relationship between amoebiasis and ulcerative colitis.
Methods: The study included 150 individuals, including 100 ulcerative colitis patients and 50 healthy individuals without gastrointestinal complaints. The samples collected were first analyzed macroscopically and then using native-Lugol, trichrome staining, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Paradoxical reactions (PRs) to biologic medications, such as psoriasis, arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), have been increasingly recognized. The aim of reporting this case is to establish an association between golimumab and exacerbation or new (de novo) IBD in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (SpA). Our case involves a young patient with juvenile-onset ankylosing spondylitis (AS) who developed de novo IBD following golimumab therapy for active spinal disease.
