Objective: Imbalanced autonomic nervous system (ANS) activity raises concerns about the development of systemic complications during dental treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine whether a psychological test (Toho Medical Index (TMI)) prior to the impacted mandibular third molar extraction can identify patients with potentially imbalanced autonomic function.
Materials And Methods: In this prospective study, 34 healthy adult patients with no history of systemic disease were assigned to either the autonomic imbalance group (type II, III, IV) or the control group (type I) based on the results of the TMI.

Misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin E1 analog, is increasingly used for cervical ripening to ease hysteroscopic procedures. Probiotics have shown efficacy in preventing and reducing infections caused by common viruses, including rotavirus, norovirus, hepatitis, human papillomavirus (HPV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and herpes simplex virus (HSV). A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, three-arm parallel-group study was conducted on 56 patients with moderate COVID-19 symptoms. Patients were randomly assigned to one of the three groups: standard treatment combined with UBBC-07, standard treatment combined with Unique IS-2, or standard treatment with a placebo.

Platelet factor 4 (PF4), a specific protein primarily found in megakaryocytes and platelet α-granules, plays an essential role in the coagulation process. It carries a high positive charge and thus has a unique ability to readily form complexes with negatively charged heparin. This interaction between PF4 and heparin plays a crucial role in platelet aggregation and thrombosis, resulting in heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT).
