In 1993, Boggs argued for a rethinking of the per se exclusion of hypnotically elicited testimony. This article analyzes the Minnesota v. Mack (1980) case that initiated this exclusion and the two Illinois cases Boggs cites in favor of her position. The scientific data on the effect of hypnosis on memory do not support Boggs's position. Rather than providing reasons for rethinking this per se position, these data suggest that it should be retained.

Yet, whether Dex elicits similar effects in septic patients as defined by Sepsis-3 remains unknown. Co-use of xylazine with opioids is a major health threat in the United States. However, a critical knowledge gap exists in the understanding of xylazine-induced pharmacological and pathological impact. Xylazine is mostly known as an agonist of α2-adrenergic receptors (α2-ARs), but its deleterious effects on humans cannot be fully reversed by the α2-AR antagonists, suggesting the possibility that xylazine targets receptors other than α2-ARs.

Chemically-induced seizures, as a result of exposure to a neurotoxic compound, present a serious health concern. Compounds can elicit seizure activity through disruption of neuronal signaling by neurotransmitters, either by mimicking, modulating or antagonizing their action at the receptor or interfering with their metabolism. Benzodiazepines, such as diazepam and midazolam, and barbiturates are the mainstay of treatment of seizures.
