Students from underrepresented backgrounds are less likely to pursue careers in healthcare and research. Despite the existence of many pipeline programs to reduce this disparity, there is still a need to effectively increase the diversity of the STEM workforce. Our research education program for underrepresented high school students attempts to bridge this gap by implementing the near-peer mentorship strategy by incorporating medical students in roles as program leaders and mentors.

The increasing use of ionizing radiation has raised concerns about adverse and long-term health risks for individuals. Therefore, to evaluate the range of risks and protection against ionizing radiation, it is necessary to assess the dosimetry calculation uncertainty of the absorbed dose of organs and tissues in the body. On the other hand, absorbed dose calculation with low computational load plays a noted role in dosimetry studies.

This investigation attempts to elucidate power density's interplay with observed outcomes subsequent to a training regimen. Forty-two participants were stratified into three groups (Sham, Cluster, LED-Blanket), with irradiated groups receiving 300 J of energy under distinct parameters. Photobiomodulation irradiation was applied to the quadriceps and hamstrings before each of the ten prescribed training sessions, which consisted of three sets of stiff and squats.

Objectives: To examine CT radiation dose variation in PET-CT and understand how often providers use diagnostic vs lower doses for attenuation correction and anatomic localization (AC/AL).
Methods: Retrospective, multi-centered study of PET-CT exams from 2010 to 2021. Exams were categorized as body or brain.

Purpose: Pelvimetry is often recommended in primiparous patients before offering vaginal breech delivery. Later studies show a reduction in perinatal mortality in women undergoing pelvimetry while earlier studies show the opposite. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), considered a new technology in 1990, has become the more expensive method for pelvimetry with lower-radiation, believed to prevent unnecessary cesarean sections and "falsely attempted vaginal deliveries".
