Effective, reproducible, and safe delivery of therapeutics into the inner ear is required for the prevention and treatment of hearing loss. A commonly used delivery method is via the posterior semicircular canal (PSCC); however, its specific targeting within the cochlea remains unclear, impacting precision and reproducibility. To assess safety and target specificity, we conducted in vivo recordings of the pharmacological manipulations delivered through the PSCC.

The evaluation of estimated GFR (eGFR) is a pivotal staging step in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and renal ultrasound plays an important role in diagnosis, prognosis and progression of CKD. The interaction between histopathological diagnosis and ultrasound parameters in eGFR determination has not been fully investigated yet. The study examined the results of native kidney biopsies performed in 48 Italian centers between 2012 and 2020.

Background: Although diaphragm ultrasound can be used for detecting residual neuromuscular blockade post-surgery, there exists notable dearth in contemporary research exploring the correlation between preoperative Child-Pugh classification and the effectiveness of sugammadex in reversing rocuronium-induced blockade as evaluated by diaphragmatic ultrasonography.
Methods: This was a prospective, double-blind, non-randomized controlled clinical trial conducted on patients scheduled for laparoscopic liver resection surgery. The participants were categorized into two groups, A and B, based on their preoperative Child-Pugh classification.
