Fibroblast activation protein peptide-targeted NIR-I/II fluorescence imaging for stable and functional detection of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Eur J Nucl Med Mol Imaging

January 2025

Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation Center, The Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, 52 Mei Hua East Road, Zhuhai, 519000, China.

Purpose: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the primary stromal component of the tumor microenvironment in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), affecting tumor progression and post-resection recurrence. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a key biomarker of CAFs. However, there is limited evidence on using FAP as a target in near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging for HCC.

First full intracorporeal robotic cystectomy and neobladder in a renal transplant recipient.

The literature regarding robotic-assisted radical cystectomy in kidney transplant recipients is limited. We present the first reported case of robotic-assisted radical cystectomy with a full intracorporeal orthotopic neobladder in a kidney transplant recipient. A 36-year-old man was diagnosed with muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma 12 years after kidney transplantation.

Background And Objective: Evidence regarding perioperative results and long-term functional outcomes of robotic-assisted kidney transplantation (RAKT) is limited. We evaluated perioperative surgical results and long-term functional outcomes of RAKT in patients receiving kidney transplants from living donors.

Methods: This retrospective analysis is based on a prospective multicenter cohort study conducted from July 2015 to October 2023 across ten European centers.

Transcatheter Caval Implantation for Severe Tricuspid Regurgitation.

Curr Cardiol Rep

January 2025

Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Heart Vascular & Thoracic Institute, Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Avenue, J2-3, Cleveland, OH, 44195, USA.

Purpose Of Review: We describe the evolution of caval valve implantation (CAVI) as a treatment for severe symptomatic tricuspid regurgitation (TR) in the high surgical risk patient.

Recent Findings: Surgical treatment of severe TR is often limited by the high surgical risk of the patients who tend to develop severe secondary TR. Coaptation, annuloplasty, and orthotopic replacement strategies are all limited by annular and leaflet geometry, prior valve repair, and the presence of cardiac implantable device leads.

Background: Small-molecule biomacromolecules target tumor-specific antigens. They are employed as theranostic agents for imaging and treatment. Intravenous small-molecule radioligands exhibit rapid tumor uptake and excretion.
