One hundred ninety-eight impotent men were evaluated between July 1993 and June 1994. A "patient goal-directed" approach was used in all cases. Treatment options presented to patients included: oral yohimbine, vacuum constriction devices, penile self-injection therapy, penile prostheses, and testosterone supplementation when clinically indicated. Thirty-two percent of patients declined treatment, and 67% chose nonsurgical therapy. Only two patients (1%) chose penile prostheses. In August 1994, a survey addressing satisfaction with therapy was mailed to all patients, and 99 men (50%) responded. Of the treated respondents, 80% stated that their therapy was "easy to use," and 70% reported that they were "able to have intercourse." Patients prefer nonsurgical impotence therapy, which restores satisfactory sexual function in most men.

The present work focuses on the production of sildenafil co-evaporates loaded emulgels as topical dosage forms for the treatment of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Topical administration of sildenafil citrate (SILD) co-evaporates is expected to improve the bioavailability profile of the drug and to avoid the severe side effects accompanying the traditional SILD dosage forms, especially for prohibited cardiovascular cases. Firstly, the solubility of SILD was improved via solid dispersion via co-evaporation technique using PEG-5KDa and PVP-K90 as hydrophilic carriers.

Background: Presentations and outcomes of acute myocardial infarction (MI) differ between women and men, with the worst outcomes being reported in younger women. Mental stress induced ischemia and sympathetic activation have been suggested to play a prominent role in the pathogenesis of MI in younger women, however, the impact of sex hormones on these parameters remains unknown.
Methods: The effect of sex hormones and age on myocardial infarct size and myocardial sympathetic activity (MSA) was assessed in male and female, as well as young (4-6 months) and aged (20-22 months) FVB/N mice (n = 106, 60 gonadectomized and 46 sham-operated animals) who underwent in vivo [C]meta-hydroxyephedrine ([C]mHED) positron emission tomography (PET) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging 24 h after a 30 min myocardial ischemic injury.

Background And Purpose: The prevalence of sequelae following rectal cancer (RC) treatment is high. We investigate the prevalence and temporal change in sexual dysfunction among male RC patient, along with their counselling and treatment needs and associations between sexual dysfunction and clinical factors. Patient/materials and methods: Patient-reported outcome measures were completed 3 and 12 months after RC surgery.

Utilizing network pharmacology and molecular docking, we evaluated the possible pharmacological mechanism of Danggui Sini Decoction (DGSND) for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). DGSND's chemical components and targets were found utilizing the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP). Disease-related genes associated with ED were identified through GeneCards, OMIM, TTD, DrugBank, and DisGeNET databases.
