The aerial surfaces of plants are covered by a protective barrier formed by the cutin polyester and waxes, collectively referred to as the cuticle. Plant cuticles prevent the loss of water, regulate transpiration, and facilitate the transport of gases and solutes. As the cuticle covers the outermost epidermal cell layer, it also acts as the first line of defense against environmental cues and biotic stresses triggered by a large array of pathogens and pests, such as fungi, bacteria, and insects.

The number of shark-human interactions and shark bites per capita has been increasing since the 1980s, leading to a rise in measures developed to mitigate the risk of shark bites. Yet many of the products commercially available for personal protection have not been scientifically tested, potentially providing an exaggerated sense of security to the people using them. We tested five personal shark deterrents developed for surfers ( [] and ) by comparing the percentage of baits taken, distance to the bait, number of passes, and whether a shark reaction could be observed.

Objective: This study was done to find out the prevalence of different types of ear disease in rural school children of Nepal.
Material And Methods: This is a prospective cross-sectional study among 2000 children aged between 5 and 13 years. Children those attending free health camps in rural places of six districts of Nepal were included.
