Natural killer (NK) cells are frontline defenders against cancer and are capable of recognizing and eliminating tumor cells without prior sensitization or antigen presentation. Due to their unique HLA mismatch tolerance, they are ideal for adoptive cell therapy (ACT) because of their ability to minimize graft-versus-host-disease risk. The therapeutic efficacy of NK cells is limited in part by inhibitory immune checkpoint receptors, which are upregulated upon interaction with cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment.

Despite the significant advancements in cancer treatment brought by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), their effectiveness in treating glioblastoma (GBM) remains highly dissatisfactory. Immunotherapy relies on the fundamental concept of T cell-mediated tumor killing (TTK). Nevertheless, additional investigation is required to explore its potential in prognostic prediction and regulation of tumor microenvironment (TME) in GBM.

Background: 5-Methylcytosine (m5C) is an mRNA modifier that is associated with the occurrence and development of viral infection, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and other diseases. However, the role of m5C regulators in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains unknown.
Methods: In this study, by analysing the GSE42057 dataset, the differential expression of m5c regulators in the COPD group and control group was obtained, and a correlation analysis was conducted.

As a biological macromolecule, the superantigen staphylococcal enterotoxin C2 (SEC2) is one of the most potent known T-cell activators, and it induces massive cytotoxic granule production. With this property, SEC2 and its mutants are widely regarded as immunomodulating agents for cancer therapy. In a previous study, we constructed an MHC-II-independent mutant of SEC2, named ST-4, which exhibits enhanced immunocyte stimulation and antitumor activity.
