A new form of TdT mRNA has been identified by screening a mouse thymus cDNA library. It contains an open reading frame of 1527 base pairs corresponding to a protein containing 509 aminoacids, whereas the previously identified mouse TdT mRNA is composed of 1587 base pairs and encodes a protein of 529 aminoacids. Analysis of a mouse genomic clone containing the 3' portion of the TdT gene shows that these twenty additional aminoacids are encoded by an additional exon located between exons X and XI. Both forms of TdT mRNA are present in the thymus and could be generated by alternative splicing. The cDNA reported here corresponds to the major form of TdT mRNA in Balb/c mice and closely resembles human and bovine TdT cDNA. Expression of this cDNA in mammalian cells shows that it encodes a functional protein capable of catalysing N region insertions at the recombination junction of an episomic recombination substrate.

Objective: To investigate the pro-apoptotic effects of Indirubin, a traditional Chinese medicine, on ovarian cancer SKOV3 cell line and to explore its underlying mechanisms.
Methods: Ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells were divided into a control group (cells cultured normally) and an experimental group (cells cultured in medium containing Indirubin). SKOV3 cells at the logarithmic phase were treated with Indirubin at various concentrations.

Introduction: Sevoflurane is an extensively used anesthetic for pediatric patients; however, numerous studies showed that sevoflurane (SEVO) may cause long-term neurodevelopmental toxicity. Dexmedetomidine (DEX) has been shown to be protective against SEVO-induced neurotoxicity, but the mechanism remains unclear. The effects and mechanisms of different DEX administration routes on SEVO-induced neurotoxicity and long-term cognitive defects were determined and further investigated the role of sex in these processes.

Background: Lymphoid enhancer-binding factor 1 (LEF1)/T cell factor (TCF) family members are key transcription factors in malignant tumors. In this study, the role of T cell factor 4 (TCF4) in the progression of gastric cancer (GC) cell migration and invasion was investigated.
Methods: Fifty-five pairs of GC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues were collected for evaluating the expression of LEF1/TCF family members, which were also evaluated by the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) database, an online analysis platform based on The Cancer Genome Atlas and Genotype-Tissue Expression databases.
