A simple procedure is described that permits the simultaneous determination of trimipramine and its two major metabolites, desmethyl- and hydroxytrimipramine, in human plasma or red blood cells (RBCs) at therapeutic concentrations. The extracted biological fluids are injected into a capillary gas chromatograph with an OV-1 fused-silica column coupled to a nitrogen-phosphorus-selective detector. The limit of determination for trimipramine is 3 ng/ml and for that desmethyl- and hydroxytrimipramine is 4 ng/ml. The method permits the RBC/plasma ratios to be determined and to be correlated with the clinical response.

We present a novel application of a nanocrystalline boron-doped diamond electrode (B-NCDE) for the construction of an electrochemical DNA biosensor based on double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) for various bioanalytical applications. Surface characterization of the transducer surface (prior and after the fabrication of negatively charged O-terminated surface - O-B-NCDE) was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) that was further used for the voltammetric determination, scan rate dependence investigation, and repeatability examination of dsDNA electrochemical oxidation at the O-B-NCDE. Tricyclic antidepressants are commonly employed in the management of major depressive disorders. The present work describes two visible (VIS) spectrophotometric techniques that utilize the formation of charge transfer complexes between four antidepressant compounds, namely, amitriptyline hydrochloride (AMI), imipramine hydrochloride (IMI), clomipramine hydrochloride (CLO), and trimipramine maleate (TRI) acting as electron donors and two -benzoquinones, namely, -chloranilic acid (pCA) and 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ), serving as electron acceptors. The stoichiometry of the compounds produced exhibited a consistent 1:1 ratio in all instances, as established by Job's method.

In this study, for the first time, we have shown that the single nano-/microparticle trapping ability of optical tweezers combined with the high selectivity of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) provides an indispensable molecular-level instrument for chemical sciences. Trapping a single MIP inside a solution and analyzing its Brownian motion allow for real-time determination of its target molecule [trimipramine (TMP) in our case] content. This method is also utilized to precisely measure TMP concentration in the bulk solution.

Today, antidepressants are widely used and it is important to determine their trace amounts due to harmful consequences. Here, a new nano sorbent was reported for the simultaneous extraction and determination of three types of antidepressant drugs (Clomipramine (CLO), Clozapine (CLZ), and Trimipramine (TRP) by the thin-film solid-phase micro-extraction (TFME-μSPE) method followed by the Gas Chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID) analysis.
