To investigate the potential of three-dimensional time-of-flight MR angiography (MRA) to complement SE imaging, 18 patients with intracerebral arteriovenous malformations were prospectively followed after undergoing radiosurgery. Vessel occlusion after stereotaxic single high dose radiotherapy develops slowly. The MRA detected signs of nidus obliteration earlier and with a higher sensitivity than did SE imaging. Six months after radiosurgery, MRA showed a reduction of the nidus flow signals in nine patients and after 1 year it showed reduction in 15 of the 18 patients. As shown by MRA, the loss of flow signals was related to a reduction of the nidus size in 4 patients after 6 months and in 11 after 1 year. The SE imaging revealed a reduction of the nidus size in only two patients after 6 months and in eight after 1 year. The signal intensity of the feeding arteries was reduced in nine patients and that of the draining veins was reduced in six. The T2-weighted images exhibited white matter lesions in eight patients after 1 year. For complete follow-up, SE imaging should be performed together with MRA.

Background: The hemodynamics of cerebral arteriovenous malformation (cAVM) is difficult to evaluate with conventional imaging or clinical grading. The aim of this study is to: (I) investigate the association between the angioarchitecture and hemodynamic parameters in cAVM based on 4-dimentional flow magnetic resonance (4D flow MR); (II) quantify flow changes during follow-up after embolization and explore the potential of flow-guided staged embolization.
Methods: Twenty-one patients with digital subtraction angiography (DSA)-diagnosed cAVM were prospectively enrolled in a tertiary hospital consecutively from April 2022 to January 2024 for a cohort study.

Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are complex vascular anomalies that can present with significant complications, including intracranial hemorrhage. This report presents the case of a 36-year-old female with Prothrombin G20210A mutation-associated thrombophilia, highlighting its potential impact on AVM pathophysiology and management. The patient presented with a right paramedian intraparenchymal frontal hematoma, left hemiparesis, and seizures.

The presence of microbial biofilms in many human chronic wounds led to the hypothesis that biofilms delay healing of these wounds. We tested this hypothesis in a population of 117 older individuals with venous leg ulcers who were receiving standardised therapy, including frequent debridement. Debridement specimens were analysed for the amount of bacterial biomass by two independent methods: a microscopic approach that scored the relative size and number of bacterial aggregates, interpreted as a biofilm metric, and conventional enumeration by agar plating for viable bacteria.

Background And Objectives: Patients with brain arteriovenous malformations (BAVMs) sometimes experience migraine-like chronic headaches. Reportedly, this symptom is common in occipital lobe BAVMs; however, the exact prevalence has not been clarified, and the details of visual auras have been scarcely reported. Furthermore, no comprehensive studies exist on the improvement of migraine associated with visual auras in occipital lobe BAVMs after stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).

Background: Multimodal therapy for brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVM) with embolization followed by stereotactic radiosurgery (E + SRS) has shown varying outcomes. Its benefits over other treatment modalities have been questioned. The goal of this systematic review was to determine the factors associated with cure and complication rates of this treatment strategy.
