The pupil can be excited to sustained oscillations under high gain feedback conditions. The period of these oscillations (cycle time) is reduced by increased average light level by an amount commensurate with reductions in phase lag reported in the companion paper (Myers et al. 1991b). A mathematical model of this phenomenon is used to unify and clarify experimental data presented here and in the literature.

Diadromous fishes exhibit latitudinal clines of ocean dependency at inter- and intra-species levels. A pattern of ocean dependence at high latitudes and river dependence at low latitudes is explained by relative aquatic productivity. Such latitudinal productivity clines may induce geographical variations in life-history diversity within migratory phenotypes.

Feeding behaviours are established early in life, with lifelong influences on children's appetite, growth and health, emphasizing the importance of understanding how parent-child feeding interactions relate to children's eating and growth patterns. The objective was to examine reciprocity between parent-reported feeding practices and children's observed willingness-to-try-new-foods in childcare settings without parental presence, thereby assessing independence from context and parental influence.
