The application of duplex ultrasonography to the diagnosis of venous thrombosis requires validation by comparison of the duplex findings with the results of ascending contrast venography. In this study, 2534 veins were examined by both methods with contrast venography results serving as the standard for comparison. In this setting, duplex ultrasonography proved to be 100% sensitive and 99% specific for venous thrombosis. Duplex ultrasonography is as reliable as venography in the diagnosis of venous thrombosis and has no associated risks or known complication. In addition, duplex ultrasonography provides information regarding pathologic anatomy that is comparable to the detail provided by high-quality venography. The authors conclude that duplex ultrasonography should be the diagnostic method of choice for evaluating patients with suspected venous thrombosis.

Transcranial Doppler is an instrumental ultrasound method capable of providing data on various brain pathologies, in particular, the study of cerebral hemodynamics in stroke, quickly, economically, and with repeatability of the data themselves. However, literature reviews from clinical studies and clinical trials reported that it is an operator-dependent method, and the data can be influenced by external factors, such as noise, which may require greater standardization of the parameters. Artificial intelligence can be utilized on transcranial Doppler to increase the accuracy and precision of the data collected while decreasing operator dependencies.

Objectives: To establish and validate a dual-modal radiomics nomogram from grayscale ultrasound and color doppler flow imaging (CDFI) of cervical lymph nodes (LNs), aiming to improve the diagnostic accuracy of metastatic LNs in differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC).
Methods: DTC patients with suspected cervical LNs in two medical centers were retrospectively enrolled. Pathological results were set as gold standard.

Background: Previous studies have shown that higher uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) values in early pregnancy have predictive value for the risk of preeclampsia (PE). However, the sensitivity and specificity of this marker remain controversial. This study aims to explore further the association between UtA-PI in early pregnancy and the incidence of preeclampsia.

The objective was to study the risk factors of venous thrombosis after ankle fracture with type 2 diabetes mellitus surgery using a tourniquet and to assess the effect of ischemic preconditioning and metformin combination therapy in preventing thrombosis. One hundred eighty patients with ankle fractures combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated with lower extremity tourniquet surgery between January 2020 and December 2023 were analyzed. Based on postoperative color Doppler ultrasound of both lower extremities, the patients were divided into thrombus-positive and negative groups.

Introduction: Foot ulcers are one of the most serious complications of diabetes, leading to significant risks on amputation and mortality. Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is an important factor for the development and the outcome of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). Although prompt and accurate detection of PAD is critical to reduce complications, its diagnosis can be challenging with currently used bedside tests (such as ankle-brachial index and toe pressure) due to medial arterial calcification.
