Background & Aims: We aimed to develop and validate an artificial intelligence score (GEMA-AI) to predict liver transplant (LT) waiting list outcomes using the same input variables contained in existing models.
Methods: Cohort study including adult LT candidates enlisted in the United Kingdom (2010-2020) for model training and internal validation, and in Australia (1998-2020) for external validation. GEMA-AI combined international normalized ratio, bilirubin, sodium, and the Royal Free Glomerular Filtration Rate in an explainable Artificial Neural Network.

The Rous sarcoma virus (RSV) is an onco-retrovirus that infects avian species such as the chicken (Gallus gallus). RSV is the first oncovirus to be described, and the oncogenic activity of this virus is related to the expression of a tyrosine kinase that induces carcinogenic transformation. Interestingly, we have noted that the RSV genome contains various potential G4-forming sequences.

Background: Access to liver transplantation (LT) is affected by geographic disparities. Higher waitlist mortality is observed in patients residing farther from LT centres, but the impact of distance on post-LT outcomes is unclear.
Aims: To evaluate whether the distance LT recipients reside from their LT centre affects graft and patient outcomes.

Department of Anesthesiology, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple, Temple, Texas, USA.
Background: We hypothesized that patients who received a lower dose of intrathecal morphine (ITM) would have higher postoperative opioid consumption following cesarean delivery.
Methods: Patients who had cesarean deliveries from February 15, 2022, through February 14, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple with single injection spinal or combined spinal epidural anesthesia who did not have labor epidural anesthesia were included. Morphine milligram equivalent (MME) opioid consumption in the first 24 postoperative hours was recorded along with patient demographic, physical, and clinical characteristics.

Intraductal papillary neoplasms of the bile duct are rare tumors with fibrovascular stalks arising from the bile duct. It is often difficult to diagnose preoperatively, especially from mucinous cystic neoplasms. The incidence is more common in Asian countries and rare in Western countries.
