Optimal fluid strategy for laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (LDN) remains unclear. LDN has been a domain for liberal fluid management to ensure graft perfusion, but this can result in adverse outcomes due to fluid overload. Removal of the rib and adjacent cartilage is a common step for exposure of the recipient chest vessels in free-flap breast reconstructions. However, this adds both short- and long-term morbidity to the procedure. We describe our experience in avoiding rib removal in microvascular breast reconstruction.

Methods: Utilizing a comprehensive dataset from the hospital's Hospital Information System, the study reviewed the records of 8,378 patients who underwent corneal transplants between 2009 and 2022. This analysis included demographic information, surgical details, and follow-up data.
