The possibility that dietary fish oil supplementation may benefit patients with hypercalciuric urolithiasis by decreasing calcium excretion and enhancing protective mechanisms has been studied in rats and humans. In experiments on rats in metabolic cages, fish oil inhibited experimental nephrocalcinosis induced by intraperitoneal calcium gluconate. There were no significant changes in urinary biochemistry. In a clinical study on 18 hypercalciuric recurrent stone patients fish oil significantly decreased urinary calcium excretion. This effect was accompanied by decreases in the excretion of magnesium and citrate. Oxalate excretion and urinary fibrinolytic activity were unchanged. Overall, fish oil had a limited impact on the risk profile for recurrent urolithiasis.

To explore the changes and significance of resolvin D1 (RvD1) in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with Belimumab. The clinical data from patients with moderate to severe disease activity SLE who received oral stable doses of glucocorticoids (≤10 mg/d) and/or immunosuppressants for more than 3 months at the outpatient or inpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January 2022 to November, 2023 were retrospectively collected. All patients were treated with 10 mg/kg intravenous infusion of Belimumab.

Objective: To evaluate the associations between the quality of the diet and its components and microbial diversity and composition in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
Design And Methods: This crossectional study included PD patients for at least 3 months, aged 18-75 years and clinically stable. The Diet Quality Index (DQI), validated for the Brazilian population, is based on the energy density of 11 components ("sugar and sweets"; "beef, pork and processed meat"; "refined grains and breads"; "animal fat"; "poultry, fish and eggs"; "whole cereals, tubers and roots"; "fruits"; "non-starch vegetables"; "legumes and nuts"; "milk and dairy products"; "vegetable oil").

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer and the leading cause of cancer-related death in women worldwide. Highly targeted therapies have been developed for different subtypes of breast cancer, including hormone receptor (HR)-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer. However, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and metastatic breast cancer disease are primarily treated with chemotherapy, which improves disease-free and overall survival, but does not offer a curative solution for these aggressive forms of breast cancer.

Recent Findings: COPD patients face increased metabolic demands, systemic inflammation, and reduced dietary intake, resulting in muscle wasting, sarcopenia, and cachexia.

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of risk factors, including abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, dyslipidemia (intended as an increase in triglyceride levels and a reduction in HDL cholesterol levels), and elevated fasting glucose, that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. With the rising prevalence of metabolic syndrome, effective dietary interventions are essential in reducing these health risks. The Mediterranean diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and olive oil and moderate in fish and poultry, has shown promise in addressing metabolic syndrome and its associated components.
