Chronic ingestion of foods containing elevated levels of beta carotene, a common dietary staple endemic in West Africa, may promote the development of yellow to orange hyperpigmentation of the oral mucosa and skin. This benign condition, known as carotenemia or hypercarotenemia, has received little attention in the general dental literature. The aim of this case report is to increase awareness of this phenomenon by describing the clinical presentation of a patient from Nigeria with conspicuous yellow discoloration of the floor of the mouth and soft palatal mucosa.

This article presents the clinical case of a 42-year-old woman with chronic pain in her left temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and limited mouth opening. Approximately 30% of women with a history of preeclampsia develop chronic hypertension within 10 years of pregnancy. This systematic review summarizes risk factors before, during, and immediately after pregnancy for the development of chronic hypertension 5 years after preeclampsia. Databases were searched with terms 'preeclampsia' and 'postpartum hypertension' or 'cardiovascular disease' up to 30th October 2023.

Objective: The study aims to evaluate the clinical outcomes in patients with hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) with chronic pain following treatment with cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs).

Methods: This was a case series conducted with the UK Medical Cannabis Registry. The primary outcomes were changes in the following validated patient-reported outcome measures at 1, 3, 6, 12, and 18 months compared with baseline: Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire 2 (SF-MPQ-2), pain visual analog scale score (Pain-VAS), Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), five-level EQ-5D (EQ-5D-5L), Single-Item Sleep Quality Scale (SQS), General Anxiety Disorder Seven-Item Scale (GAD-7), and Patient Global Impression of Change.
