Electronic address:

Microplastics (MPs), defined as plastic particles smaller than 5 mm, have garnered considerable attention owing to their potential biological impact on human health. These particles exhibit a range of physicochemical properties, including size, shape, and surface oxidation. Nile Red is a prominent tool for detecting microplastics, enabling staining for dynamic analyses within biological systems.

A novel genetically encoded indicator for deciphering cytosolic and mitochondrial nitric oxide in live cells.

Biochem Biophys Res Commun

Department of Pharmacy, Tongji Hospital, Tongji University School of Medicine, Shanghai, 200065, China. Electronic address:

Nitric oxide (NO) has been highlighted as a key gaseous signaling molecule in the body, playing a central role in various physiological and pathological processes. However, a comprehensive analysis of NO metabolism dynamics in living cells remains a significant challenge. To address this, we have developed and characterized a novel genetically encoded NO fluorescence sensor, GefiNO, to investigate NO metabolism dynamics in living cells and subcellular organelles.

Supporting rotational grazing systems with virtual fencing: paddock transitions, beef heifer performance, and stress response.

Department of Crop Sciences, Grassland Science, Georg-August-University Göttingen, Von-Siebold-Strasse 8, 37075 Göttingen, Germany; Centre for Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use, Büsgenweg 1, 37075 Göttingen, Germany.

Animal welfare is integral to sustainable livestock production, and pasture access for cattle is known to enhance welfare. Despite positive welfare impacts, high labour requirements hinder the adoption of sustainable grazing practices such as rotational stocking management. Virtual fencing (VF) is an innovative technology for simplified, less laborious grazing management and remote animal monitoring, potentially facilitating the expansion of sustainable livestock production.
