The correct interfacing between the gingival structure and the final restoration is of primary importance to the clinician. Replacement of a single central maxillary incisor, once one of the most difficult challenges in implant dentistry, is now highly predictable due to the latest prosthetic advancements. In successful case planning, two preliminary factors--tissue evaluation and fixture selection--have to be considered. The learning objective of this article is the procedure and material selection in an anterior single tooth replacement, illustrated in a case study.

The objective of this study was to tailor an osteoinductive scaffold for alveolar bone regeneration and around immediately placed implants in extraction sockets of dogs. Tailored amorphous multiporous bioactive glass (TAMP -BG) was prepared and characterized for bioactivity and response of human alveolar bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hABMSCs).
