Catecholamine contents in non-stimulated and pilocarpine-stimulated submaxillary salivary gland tissue (SGT), oral mucosa (OM) and stimulated saliva in acute experimental staphylococcal sialoadenitis were determined in rats using standard HPLC method. It was shown that 2 hrs after toxin injection, NA contents decreased in non-stimulated SGT, NA and A contents in SGT and OM also decreased. After 2 and 24 hrs NA and A contents were not changed in stimulated SGT and OM and after 24 hrs A content increased in SGT and OM. In saliva after 2 hrs the content and secretion of NA increased, after 24 hrs the content and secretion of NA decreased, but that of A increased. It was concluded that in sialoadenitis the disorders of catecholamine contents in the saliva correlated with its content in OM and influenced the trophic of OM and could be conductive to the development of its pathology.

Background: Adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as preterm delivery and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, may be associated with higher future risks of heart failure (HF). However, the comparative effects of different adverse pregnancy outcomes on long-term risk of HF, and their potential causality, are unclear.
Objectives: The authors sought to examine 5 major adverse pregnancy outcomes in relation to long-term risk of HF in a large population-based cohort.
Aims: The prognostic impact of B lymphocytes surrounding Hodgkin and Reed Sternberg (HRS) cells in classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) and pathogenic variants in genes associated with apoptosis regulation remains undefined.
Methods: We have quantified the proportion of B lymphocytes in tumour microenvironment (TME) in 220 diagnostic slides from 110 cHL patients applying computational pathology (CP) and sequenced cases using a targeted panel including 47 genes recurrently mutated in mature B-cell neoplasms. Kaplan-Meier estimators and multivariate Cox regression on overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were assessed following the Transparent Reporting of a multivariable prediction model for Individual Prognosis Or Diagnosis guidelines.

Introduction: Several reviews have highlighted that the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is the best diagnostic tool for assessing nutritional status in cancer patients. However, previous meta-analyses summarizing the prevalence of malnutrition and overall survival in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancer are quite limited. This study aims to determine the overall prevalence and association between malnutrition, as defined by the PG-SGA, and mortality in adults with GI cancer.

Background: Plant-based dietary patterns are becoming increasingly popular due to environmental and health impacts, yet there are few studies exploring the relationship between plant-based dietary patterns and venous thromboembolism (VTE) in different genetic backgrounds.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate how plant-based dietary pattern and genetic susceptibility independently or jointly affect VTE and its subtypes of pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis.
Methods: A total of 183,510 participants who were White British ethnicity background and free of VTE at baseline in the UK Biobank were recruited, in consideration that the selection of genetic variants for VTE was based on results of White European individuals.
