Natural products, particularly plants, remain a vital source of bioactive compounds owing to their unparalleled metabolic diversity across pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foods, and agriculture. However, this diversity, encompassing not only a multitude of compounds but also their varying chemical and physical properties, presents a challenge in their effective utilization. Targeted analysis of specific metabolites, as well as untargeted approaches covering a wide metabolite range, necessitate optimal extraction solvents tailored to meet diverse requirements.

In this study, a polysaccharide component was extracted from Pinus pumila using biomimetic-microwave assisted alkali tandem extraction and then purified by DEAE-52 and Sephadex G-200. A new purified polysaccharide (PSP c-a) was determined through in vitro tracking. The structural features were characterized using a HPGP, FTIR, IC and NMR spectroscopy.

A novel ionic liquid MALDI matrix, 3-aminoquinoline/2',4',6'-trihydroxyacetophenone monohydrate (3-AQ/THAP), was developed for the rapid qualitative and quantitative detection of miRNA from biological samples. Compared to the traditional matrix 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) and previously reported oligonucleotide-specific matrices, such as 3-aminopicolinic acid (3-APA), 3-hydroxypicolinic acid (3-HPA), and 6-aza-2-thiothymine (ATT), the 3-AQ/THAP matrix offers several advantages. It produces fewer alkali metal adduct peaks, exhibits higher sensitivity, and ensures better spot-to-spot repeatability.

Soil moisture is the core of the hydrological cycle in agroecosystems, and most of the studies on soil moisture dynamics modeling adopt deterministic research methods, which are not well suited to study the hydrological processes in agricultural fields under changing conditions. Therefore, the present study adopts a stochastic approach to reveal the distribution characteristics of soil moisture in agroecosystems under the effects of soil, climate, vegetation, and other influencing factors. Using soil moisture and precipitation data and based on a stochastic model of soil moisture dynamics, the point-scale soil moisture dynamic characteristics and soil moisture probability density function of farmland systems in the Songnen Plain region were investigated.

Road runoff underwent treatment using a filter filled with sludge from drinking water treatment plants to assess its capacity for removing dissolved organic matter (DOM). This evaluation utilized resin fractionation, gel permeation chromatography, three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy, and UV-Visible spectroscopy. The filter demonstrated enhanced efficiency in removing dissolved organic carbon, achieving removal rates between 70 and 80%.
