A 69-year-old male was admitted to our hospital complaining of skin pigmentation. Masses in bilateral adrenal glands were noted on computed tomography. An exploratory laparotomy revealed malignant lymphoma confined to the bilateral adrenal glands. Histological diagnosis was diffuse mixed-cell type, B-cell lymphoma. Laboratory tests disclosed an elevated ACTH level and decreased urinary 17KS and 170HCS secretion. Based on hypofunction of adrenal glands and skin pigmentation, the patient was diagnosed as having Addison's disease. After complete remission with combination chemotherapy, adrenal function recovered normal and pigmentation disappeared, Addison's disease is an extremely rare complication of primary malignant lymphoma of the adrenal gland.

Experimental studies of chronic noise exposure in modern urban life testified about oxidative stress due to the corresponding hormones effects leading to accumulation of reactive oxygen species and endothelial dysfunction. This study aims to evaluate the protective effect of α2-adrenoblockers to modulate oxidative stress and corticosterone levels due to chronic noise exposure. Breath-hold T2-weighted half-Fourier acquisition single-shot turbo spin echo (HASTE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the upper abdomen with a slice thickness below 5 mm suffers from high image noise and blurring. The purpose of this prospective study was to improve image quality and accelerate imaging acquisition by using single-breath-hold T2-weighted HASTE with deep learning (DL) reconstruction (DL-HASTE) with a 3 mm slice thickness. MRI of the upper abdomen with DL-HASTE was performed in 35 participants (5 healthy volunteers and 30 patients) at 3 Tesla.

Elevated cortisol in chronic stress and mood disorders causes morbidity including metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. There is therefore interest in developing drugs that lower cortisol by targeting its endocrine pathway, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. However, several promising HPA-modulating drugs have failed to reduce long-term cortisol in mood disorders, despite effectiveness in other hypercortisolism conditions such as Cushing's syndrome.
