Rerouting of blood from the renal cortex to the renal medulla (Trueta shunting), observed in 5 cases, may occur in normal kidneys during renal angiography. The temporary nature of this artifact may be proved by performing an abdominal aortogram with the catheter tip inserted farther away from the renal arteries. The exact mechanism of this phenomenon is unknown; it may also occur with various renovascular disorders.

RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) plays diverse roles in RNA metabolism and its deregulation contributes to tumor initiation and progression. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is characterized by near ubiquitous loss of followed by mutations in epigenetic regulators , , and . Mutations in , a histone H3 lysine 36 trimethylase (H3K36me3), are associated with reduced survival, greater metastatic propensity, and metabolic reprogramming.

Proteinuria, especially albuminuria, serves as an independent risk factor for progression in cardiovascular and renal diseases. Clinical and experimental studies have demonstrated that renal nerves contribute to renal dysfunction in arterial hypertension (AH). This study hypothesizes that renal nerves mediate the mechanisms of protein endocytosis by proximal tubule epithelial cells (PTEC) and glomerular function; with dysregulation of the renal nerves contributing to proteinuria in Wistar rats with renovascular hypertension (2-kidney, 1-clip model, 2K-1C).

Objective: Recognizing glomerular lesions is essential in diagnosing chronic kidney disease. However, deep learning faces challenges due to the lesion heterogeneity, superposition, progression, and tissue incompleteness, leading to uncertainty in model predictions. Therefore, it is crucial to analyze pathology-related predictive uncertainty in glomerular lesion recognition and unveil its relationship with pathological properties and its impact on model performance.

The aim of this study was to explore biological interaction and pathophysiology mechanisms in a new mouse model of cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome, induced by chronic moderate renal failure in combination with consumption of a customized Western diet rich in carbohydrates, fat and salt. Male C57BL/6J mice were subjected to unilateral nephrectomy, fed a customized Western diet rich not only in sugar and fat but also in salt, and followed for 12 weeks or 20 weeks. Sham-operated mice on a standard chow served as healthy controls.
