The surgical and prosthetic protocols for use of dental implants were originally developed for the treatment of complete edentulism. Implants are now widely used to treat partial edentulism, but the necessary adjustments to the prosthetic protocol have been developed largely on a trial-and-error basis. This paper reviews the efficacy of commonly used restorative techniques for partially edentulous arches and relates these techniques to Brånemark's original prosthetic protocol.

This study investigates the ergonomic assessment of sitting postures and the potential for work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in office environments by comparing traditional physical therapist evaluations with Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) technology by determining the reliability and accuracy of sitting posture assessment using the rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) method. In this experiment, neck and body angle data is collected from twenty participants while sitting and working. The study aims to capture and compare the neck and trunk posture score based RULA protocol system to evaluate ergonomic risks.

Objective: Transcutaneous osseointegration prosthetic systems (TOPS) offer a stable skeletal attachment for artificial limbs post-extremity amputation, serving as an alternative to socket attachment. Press-fit osseointegration implants (OI) utilized in TOPS consistently enhance quality of life and mobility for amputees, particularly those experiencing socket-related issues. Despite notable benefits, late complications such as infection and implant loosening pose challenges unique to TOPS due to their percutaneous nature.
