Isotope limb blood flow studies were carried out using balloon, laser and Kensey catheter techniques to assess the outcome of peripheral angioplasty. Limb blood flow and Doppler ankle-brachial pressure measurements were obtained before angioplasty and at 6 months after angioplasty in a total of 101 angioplastied limbs: A fall in limb blood flow at 6 months was seen in 17% of the angioplastied limbs with no significant difference in the figures for the different types of angioplasty. Limb blood flow was also measured in 53 contralateral untreated limbs, approximately half of the patient group having both legs angioplastied. 25% of untreated limbs showed a fall in limb blood flow. Significantly more of the untreated limbs showed a fall in limb blood flow at 6 months where the contralateral, treated limb did not improve as a result of the angioplasty compared with those patients where the angioplastied leg improved. These results suggest that a lack of improvement in blood flow in the angioplastied limb may not result from failure of the angioplasty but may be the result of some factor, or combination of factors, which adversely affects both the angioplastied and the untreated leg in some patients.

Objective: To explore the clinical manifestations and genetic characteristics of a child with Leukoencephalopathy with ataxia (LKPAT) caused by a CLCN2 gene variant.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of a child admitted to Hunan Children's Hospital in June 2024 due to "intermittent convulsions for 13 days". Peripheral blood samples were collected from the child and his parents for whole exome sequencing, followed by Sanger sequencing validation and pathogenicity analysis of candidate variants.

Methods: A Chinese pedigree presenting with "lower limb muscle atrophy and movement disorders" at the Prenatal Diagnosis Center of Xuzhou Central Hospital between January and August 2024 was selected as the study subject. Relevant clinical data were collected from the pedigree members.

Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare congenital vascular malformations with associated morbidities. We describe a neonatal case of upper limb high-flow AVM presenting with upper limb soft tissue mass and postnatal high-output heart failure. Doppler study suggested high-flow AVM, and later magnetic resonance angiography of the right upper limb confirmed the diagnosis.

We present a case of a woman in her 40s with disseminated enterovirus infection in the setting of maintenance therapy with ocrelizumab for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. The patient originally presented with fever, bilateral lower limb swelling and hypoalbuminaemia. She subsequently developed a productive cough and diarrhoea, and a viral respiratory multiplex panel detected rhino/enterovirus.

Background: Postoperative spinal epidural hematoma (SEH) is a rare but serious complication following lumbar surgery, with cauda equina syndrome (CES) being one of its most devastating outcomes. While CES typically presents with a combination of bladder and/or bowel dysfunction, diminished sensation in the saddle area, and motor or sensory changes in the lower limbs, atypical cases with isolated urinary symptoms are less recognized and pose significant diagnostic challenges.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a 46-year-old male who developed CES following lumbar microdiscectomy, presenting solely with urinary retention, without the classic signs of lower limb weakness or perineal sensory loss.
