Background: Perioperative management practices in liver transplantation (LT) evolve very quickly. There are few specific recommendations, often based on a low level of evidence, resulting in wide heterogeneity of practices.

Methods: We performed a survey in all 16 French centers in 2021 by focusing on center organization, preoperative cardiovascular assessment, antimicrobial prophylaxis, hemostasis management, intraoperative use of hemodynamic monitoring and renal replacement therapy, immunosuppression, and postoperative prevention of arterial complications and compared it with current recommendations.

Background: Fever following transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) poses a clinical challenge, necessitating a comprehensive diagnostic approach to discern between infectious and non-infectious origins. Despite its minimally invasive nature, TAVI disrupts protective anatomical barriers, leading to an increased risk of infection, as well as to aseptic inflammatory responses. Standardized strategies for the management of these patients are lacking.

Objectives: Antibiotic prophylaxis for patients with cancer remains a controversial issue and is not broadly recommended for hematological malignancies. The venetoclax (VEN) and azacitidine (AZA) combination allows for high rates of complete remission in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) but enhances the incidence of febrile neutropenia (FN) compared to AZA alone, making primary antibiotic prophylaxis a relevant question.

Patients And Methods: Patients with AML who received VEN-AZA were selected from the DATAML registry to investigate the use of levofloxacin (LEVO) prophylaxis, administered at 500 mg/day from day 10 following the first course of VEN-AZA, until neutrophil recovery (>0.

Introduction: Maternal Group B (GBS) rectovaginal colonization is an important risk factor for invasive disease in neonates, yet availability of culture-based methods for detection is limited in low-resource settings. We evaluated the diagnostic performance of the HiberGene (HG) GBS loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay for the rapid detection of GBS in rectal/vaginal swabs collected from women in Uganda. This work forms a part of the PROGRESS GBS study.

Objectives: Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols for endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) have not been widely implemented, and a critical review of ERAS recommendations and a comprehensive analysis of the supporting literature has not been undertaken. We describe an ESS ERAS protocol including key perioperative interventions for patients undergoing ESS and assess the available evidence.

Data Sources: A search was conducted of all relevant ERAS literature in otorhinolaryngology, anesthesia, and surgery using Medline (via PubMed), and Scopus.
