Background: Family caregivers of patients with severe acute brain injury (SABI) are at risk for clinically significant chronic emotional distress, including depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress. Existing psychosocial interventions for caregivers of intensive care unit (ICU) patients are not tailored to the unique needs of caregivers of patients with SABI, do not demonstrate long-term efficacy, and may increase caregiver burden. In this study, we explored the needs and preferences for psychosocial services among SABI caregivers to inform the development and adaptation of interventions to reduce their emotional distress during and after their relative's ICU admission.

Objective: To examine healthcare-seeking delays among immigrant patients with acute ischaemic stroke (AIS), identifying key factors contributing to these delays and proposing evidence-based interventions for policy formulation and research.
Design: A retrospective observational study analysing healthcare-seeking behaviours and delay times among immigrant patients with AIS treated at the Department of Neurology, Longhua District People's Hospital, Shenzhen, from December 2021 to October 2023. The study included 1356 patients with AIS, all part of the immigrant population as defined by Shenzhen Statistical Yearbook criteria.

Background: Clinicians are frequently asked 'how long' questions at end-of-life by patients and those important to them, yet predicting timeframes to death remains uncertain, even in the last weeks and days of life. Patients and families wish to know so they can ask questions, plan, make decisions, have time to visit and say their goodbyes, and have holistic care needs met. Consequently, this necessitates a more accurate assessment of empirical data to better inform prognostication and reduce uncertainty around time until death.

Introduction: Early prediction of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) secondary to severe heat stroke (SHS) is crucial for improving patient outcomes. This study aims to develop and validate a risk prediction model for those patients based on immediate assessment indicators on ICU admission.
Methods: Two hundred eighty-four cases with SHS in our hospital between July 2009 and April 2024 were retrospectively reviewed, and categorized into non-MODS and MODS groups.
