The testes and excurrent ducts of four bonnet macaques (Macaca radiata) were examined using scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The three layers of contractile and connective tissue composing the tunica albuginea, and the multilayered tunica propria of the seminiferous tubules were similar to that of man. Spermatids project from the epithelium or are found free in the lumen. The stages of the cycle of the germinal epithelium in the bonnet macaque were similar to that in other macaques. The epithelium of the rete testis consisted of thin brush-bordered cells, whereas the epithelium of the efferent ducts consisted of tall, prismatic or cylindrical cells lined by kinocillia or short stereocilia and basal cells. The height of the epididymal epithelium and lumen diameter was maximal in the caput region and minimal at the cauda. Spermatozoa were found among clusters of stereocilia. The epithelium of the vas deferens showed gradual transition from the stereocilia covering typical of the epididymis to that of a shorter, apical microvilli covering.

Objective: The objective was to find out the expression of EphB4 receptor and ephrin-B1 ligand by the macrophages that live inside the mouse testicles.
Materials And Methods: Messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) expression of EphB4 and ephrin-B1 was identified via RT-PCR amplification, and protein expression was examined by immunostaining.
Results: Analysis using RT-PCR revealed that mRNA of EphB4 and ephrin-B1 were noticed in the examined testis of all postnatal ages.

Materials And Methods: Lectin staining was performed on testis and epididymis of 1-day-old and 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 8-week-old ICR mice.
Results: Rete testis epithelia were UEA-I- and PNA-negative at all postnatal ages.

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) play key roles in controlling the morphological transformation of germ cells during spermatogenesis and posttesticular maturation of sperm. This study aims to reveal the presence and localization patterns of large adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-dependent HSPs family members in adult domestic cat testis and excurrent ducts utilizing Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence techniques. The results indicated that the relative amounts of heat shock protein D1 (HSPD1)/HSP60, heat shock protein C (HSPC)/HSP90, and heat shock protein H (HSPH)/HSP105/110 were highest in the testis, while heat shock protein A (HSPA)/HSP70 was highest in the corpus epididymis.

The immunolocalization of the cytoskeletal and the extracellular matrix proteins was investigated in the testicular excurrent duct system of healthy Japanese quail at 4, 6−7, 12 and 52 weeks of age. TdT dUTP Nick End Labeling (TUNEL) assay was used to assess apoptotic cell formation. The epithelia of the testicular excurrent duct system in birds of all age groups displayed various immunolabeling intensities and localization of cytokeratin 5 and beta-tubulin, while α-SMA was observed in epithelia only of 4-week-old birds.

This study investigated the morphology and immunoexpression of aquaporins (AQPs) 1 and 9 in the rete testis, efferent ducts, epididymis, and vas deferens in the Azara's agouti (). For this purpose, ten adult sexually mature animals were used in histologic and immunohistochemical analyses. The Azara's agouti rete testis was labyrinthine and lined with simple cubic epithelium.
